Ranthambore has no shortage of operators. What it was short of was one that would tell you the truth before taking your money.
Most safari businesses here are built on volume: fill the vehicle, sell the seat, promise the tiger. It works, in the narrow sense that money changes hands. It also produces a great many guests who spend three hours in one of the most extraordinary forests in India feeling short-changed because a wild animal did not perform.
We started The Real Jungle Project on the opposite bet — that guests would rather be told the truth. That a private vehicle and a naturalist who can read the forest is worth more than a guarantee nobody can keep. And that the fort on the hill, the ruins by the lake and the 320 birds are not consolation prizes; they are the point.
It has meant turning away bookings for the wrong season and steering people toward smaller packages than they came asking for. It has also meant a return rate we are quietly proud of.

Four things we won't compromise on
We don't promise sightings
No operator can guarantee a wild animal. Anyone who does is either lying or hoping you won't remember. We quote you the odds for your season and your zone, and we leave the promise out of it.
Every vehicle is private
You are never sold a seat beside a stranger — not in a gypsy, not in a canter. It costs us volume. It is the single biggest difference between a good drive and a wasted one.
Naturalists, not just drivers
Every drive carries a Forest-Department-certified naturalist who has worked these zones for years. They read alarm calls, they know individual tigers by territory, and they are allowed to be patient.
We talk you out of things
Wrong season, too few drives, a package heavier than you need — we say so. A smaller honest booking beats a large disappointed one, and it is why most of our guests come back.
